The Designer Series used 1/2-inch NPT connections with a proprietary cartridge that Jerith discontinued in 2015; the ProLine shifted to standard Moen-compatible valves, which makes sourcing easier; the Reserve line uses their own quick-connect system that looks standard but isn’t.

To identify yours, check the escutcheon plate or underside of the faucet spout for a stamped model number beginning with JD-, JP-, or JR-. If the label’s worn off, measure the valve center-to-center: Designer Series is 4 inches on center, ProLine and Reserve are 4 or 8 inches depending on configuration. Signs Your Jerith Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

• Chronic dripping from the spout or handles. This usually means the ceramic disc cartridge has cracked or the O-rings have hardened. In Chula Vista’s water, calcium buildup accelerates this; we see it most in Rancho del Rey homes built during the 2003-2007 wave.
• Reduced water pressure at one fixture only. The aerator is clogged with scale, or the supply line has a kinked flex hose. Jerith Designer Series flex lines used a narrower bore than code requires today, which compounds the problem.
• Finish pitting or discoloration. Chrome plating on older Jerith products was 0.2 microns thick; when it fails, the brass underneath reacts with chlorine in municipal water. There’s no repair for this; replacement is the fix.
• Loose wall-mounted fixtures. The mounting bracket has corroded where it meets the tile substrate, or the original installer used plastic anchors instead of toggle bolts. This is structural; the fixture will eventually pull free.
• Slow drain backups with no visible clog. Jerith pop-up assemblies from 2005-2014 used a brass linkage that corrodes internally, leaving the stopper half-closed. The symptom looks like a clog; the cause is the mechanism.

DIY or Call Us?

There’s a safe middle ground here. A homeowner can remove an aerator to check for scale, or confirm that a shutoff valve is fully open. What we don’t recommend: pulling a cartridge from a pressurized line without knowing where the main shutoff is, or cutting into a wall to access a valve body. The Jerith Designer Series valve bodies were cast with thinner walls than modern equivalents; too much torque and they crack in the wall cavity. We’ve been called to three Chula Vista jobs in the past two years where a homeowner’s wrench slipped and cracked the tile surround along with the valve.
